Trip to Ontario, Canada Memorial Day Weekend 2001
Second annual Memorial Day trip to Sangster Lake, outside of Godfrey Ontario. I have put the pix into categories. Birds are shots of birds, fish are shots of fish that we caught, the beaver dam is our second annual trip to bring down the beaver dam that separates Sangster and 30-island lakes. Then Sunday we finally had the storms the weather forecast had promised, though they weren't quite as bad as they were advertised.
Here is a journal entry for the trip:
Canada mem day wknd 2001
left friday ~1.45 arrived at 6
bad traffic at border stayed in traffic from almost 4 til 5.
Caught frst fish of wknd incl 21" pike.
Must make master list of things to bring-forgot coffee this time.
Sun weatherman has been wrong until today. Thunderstorms this afternoon.
Fish have been biting well. I caught my first pike-22.5 inches.
Caught another today about 20 and yesterday about 21 inches.
We kept none of them but kept 2 of Garys-23.5 and one a little smaller.
Also about 4 crappies-one of Gary's was quite big. Bullhead are nesting in
the west lagoon.
Gary mowed the whole lawn. I rode the snapper for the frst time. It was very
hard to steer.
I put the hummingbird feeder out and it didn't take too long for them to find it.
With the rain we have found out the roof leaks where the stovepipe comes in.
Need to caulk that.
